Mark your calendars for 1000 Friends of Iowa's 2010 Annual Meeting! The theme is "Building a More Sustainable Iowa". The meeting will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Griffieon Family Farm in Ankeny, IA. Registration is $40 for members, $75 for non-members (includes a one year membership), $20 for students, and $100 for sponsors. We will also hold a silent auction at this year's meeting. All proceeds from the auction go directly to supporting the mission of 1000 Friends of Iowa and are tax deductible. Directions to the Griffieon Family Farm

From Des Moines On I-35 Northbound:
Take the Ankeny Exit (Exit 92) off I-35 onto First Street.  Go to the first stoplight (intersection of Delaware Avenue) turn right (north) onto Delaware.  Go north 3 miles to NW 118th Avenue (aka NE 54th Street), turn left (west) and go one mile to Hwy 69.  Proceed west across Hwy 69 and go 1/2 mile to the first gravel road (NE 6th Street).  Turn left (south) on NE 6th Street and go to the first house on the left (east) side of the road.  Our mailbox is mounted on a walking plow.

From Ames on I-35 southbound:
Take the Elkhart Exit and turn right (west).  Travel 1 1/2 miles to Hwy. 69.  Turn left (south) onto Highway 69 and go 1 mile until you reach the Polk City Blacktop (NW 118th Ave.)  You will see a green highway sign stating “Polk City, Big Creek, Saylorville Lake”.  Turn right (west) and go 1/2 mile to the first gravel road (NE 6th St.)  Turn left onto NE 6th St. (south) to the first house on the left (east) side of the road.  Our mailbox is mounted on a walking plow.
